Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at wsbprodaccounts@godaddy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

It is an interactive program between citizens and the police designed to make citizens aware of their police department, regulations, and the Criminal Justice system. This program allows citizens and police to meet and interact in a positive and proactive setting sharing ideas and information.

The Citizen's Police Academy has a three-fold purpose. One: To provide the average citizen with information on how the Criminal Justice system operates. Two: To provide information on why and how police departments operate. This information hopefully will serve to dispel suspicions and misconceptions citizens may have of the police. Three: It shows how the police and community can work together to reduce crime.

There is no charge for anyone to attend, however, you must be 18 years of age to attend. All handouts, workbooks, and supplies will be furnished.

The only involvement you will have is a commitment on your part to attend the classes.

The Citizen's Police Academy is 10 weeks long. You are required to attend 8 classes to graduate.

The Police Department currently holds one class in the Fall each year.
